This doughnut painting was handmade using acrylic paints in my studio in Georgia. As a frequent sufferer of depression, I find myself looking to create bright, bold, and beautiful artwork. Art that doesn’t have to be stuffy. Art that will make me feel better. Art that will make someone smile. So, I came up with the Super Happy Series as a way to express not what I was feeling at the time, but what I wanted to feel at the time, and what I wanted others to feel too.
This painting depicts a whimsical purple donut on a bold yellow background. The original was painted by hand using rich acrylic paints then decorated with sparkles. Then it was coated in thick, high quality art resin to give it a bright, shiny appearance.
